An Easy Landing

At 10:30 a.m. local time, we landed in Frankfurt, Germany. After navigating the Vancouver transit from the West End to YVR, a bus from downtown to Yaletown and the Rapid transit from there to the airport ( all for the price of 13.50$ for the two us appossed to a 35$ taxi trip ) we departed just about on time, only one hour late on a Condor 767.  This was what looked to be a nice new plane, and totally full...has anyone else doing much air travel noticed that the seats are getting smaller and leg room shorter?  A quick 9.5 hour trip and here we are in Germany.

Good friends Franz and Sabine were at the terminal to meet us and escort us to Air Canada Cargo to pick up the VStrom. All paper work was done easily, if not also quite quickly and we were off to Franz and Sabine's house to enjoy more of their hospitality. After a little food, drink and catching up about the last 4 years since our last trip (not to mention 32+ hours without sleep) we hit the sac safe and sound and happy to be on the road again.

  1. Hi Heather and Ken! Nice to see the pictures with the short stories, I checked your other blog and it sure seems like you are are living like 2 free birds. Love the blog and love your 'life philosophy'. Have fun in Europe and with the rest of your travel(s). Cheers, Joost (from the flight to Frankfurt)
